An overview of the HowGood Sustainability Scorecard, and how to use it to communicate product sustainability to B2B buyers & internal teams.

HowGood draws on 600+ data sources to bring comprehensive, ingredient-level insights into product sustainability for food brands and CPGs. As consumer demand for sustainable food products increases, so has the need to clearly and quantitatively communicate the sustainability of your products.

The HowGood Sustainability Scorecard allows you to export a report at the individual product or portfolio level to support your sales and marketing initiatives. Use cases include:

  • Support sales conversations and strengthen your brand’s sustainability story with data-driven insights

  • Present B2B buyers with a customized sustainability report on an individual product, or your full portfolio

  • Share with marketing and PR teams to inform public-facing sustainability communications campaigns


Product Sustainability Scorecard

How does it work?

To export a sustainability report on any of your products:

  • Navigate to the Formula Profile page of any product

  • Select Export Product Sustainability Scorecard from the top right-hand corner

  • Select the parameters for your report:

    • Metric -

    • Industry -

    • Portfolio Comparison -

  • Select Export

Note: The PDF report displays best when opened in a PDF viewer, rather than a browser.


Portfolio Sustainability Scorecard

How does it work?

To export a sustainability report on your portfolio:

  • Navigate to Analytics > Impact

  • Select Export Product Sustainability Scorecard from the top right-hand corner

  • Select the parameters for your report:

    • Metric -

    • Industry -

    • Portfolio Comparison -

  • Select Export


Sustainability Scorecard - What does it mean?

Here’s a breakdown of what you can see on your Sustainability Scorecard:

  1. Product or Workspace Name
    The name of the product or workspace that the Sustainability Scorecard pertains to.

  2. HowGood Impact Score
    An assessment of the overall environmental and social impact of your product or workspace across 8 core sustainability metrics to yield a HowGood Impact Score out of 100.

  3. Eligible Product Claims*
    The sustainability ratings or claims your product is eligible for. This could include:

  4. Eligible Product Attributes* / Percentage of Products that Qualify for Attributes**
    Attributes translate product impact assessments into consumer-friendly messaging to showcase the sustainability of your products. Sustainability attributes your product is eligible for include:


    **Portfolio Sustainability Scorecards will display the percentage of products within the selected portfolio segment that qualify for the attributes listed above.


  5. Logo Placeholder
    A space to insert your company logo, to customize your scorecard for your brand and build brand awareness with buyers.

  6. Clickable info icon (i)

    Clickable info icons direct you to the Latis Help Center to learn more about each element on the scorecard. Icons are only clickable in PDF format, which is the recommended format for viewing your scorecard.

  7. Industry Distribution
    The distribution of HowGood Impact scores for all food products assessed by HowGood.

  8. Portfolio Distribution
    The distribution of HowGood Impact scores for all products across all workspaces.

  9. Industry Average
    The average HowGood Impact Score of all food products assessed by HowGood.

  10. Your Product or Portfolio’s Performance
    Your product’s HowGood Impact score with respect to your portfolio and the overall industry average.

  11. Portfolio Average
    The average HowGood Impact Score of all products within your portfolio.

  12. Impact Spectrum
    A visual indicator of the spectrum of sustainability scores, ranging from Negative Impact on the red end, to Positive Impact on the green end.

The Product Sustainability Scorecard is intended for a B2B audience and helps to position your product favorably with buyers who are looking for products that meet their sustainability goals.
