Overview

As a Latis user, you can easily request sustainability data from your suppliers using SupplierConnect, HowGood’s streamlined data submission portal. This allows you to collect sustainability data based directly on ingredient- and product-level data input by suppliers, ensuring the accurate insights needed for emissions reporting, compliance, and sustainability goals. Latis has the capacity to accept data in whatever form the supplier has available, including LCAs.

This feature enables you to make data requests on an as-needed basis, ensuring direct access to the specific sustainability information you require:

  • Capture reductions already happening. Suppliers may already have lower emissions than the generic industry estimates, but without primary data, you aren’t getting credit for these reductions.

  • No tough asks for suppliers. Your suppliers provide ingredient sourcing data, not sustainability data (that’s our job).

  • Increased supply chain collaboration & supplier maturity. No cost to suppliers, easy to start using, baked-in benefits, and ongoing education.

Your suppliers receive full support from HowGood throughout the process, ensuring a smooth experience.

How to Track Engagement with Vendor Management

You can now track supplier engagement with our five vendor-level statuses and detailed product-level drill downs, giving teams clear visibility into campaign progress—from request to vendor-verified footprints.

Track engagement at the vendor-level

To enable our users to more easily monitor the status of supplier engagement campaigns, we’ve released 5 new status’ at the vendor level. Engagement Status helps teams steward all suppliers through a successful data submission campaign. Used in conjunction with Priority and estimated Scope 3 Emissions, Engagement Status ensure your teams energy is spent where it matters most.

Engagement Status options:

  1. No data requested - Customer has not requested data from this vendor

  2. Data requested - Customer has ‘requested vendor data’ from this vendor

  3. SupplierConnect account created - Vendor has signed up for SupplierConnect

  4. Footprint(s) shared - Vendor has shared information at least 1 product
Exception: This does NOT yet count products shared via bulk uploads. This only counts products shared via LCA and when PCFs are calculated directly in platform.

  5. Footprint(s) vendor verified - At least one product from this vendor has vendor verified data

↗️ Go to Vendors > Add Engagement Status as a column

Track engagement at the product-level

Successful supplier engagement campaigns collect data from high impact vendors across high impact products, where every data request counts. To maximize the collection of supplier provided data, we allow product-level tracking to drill down and understand which products need additional follow up/action from your suppliers. Use the Data Request Status alongside the Priority and Carbon Footprint to target your data requests with precision.

↗️ Go to Materials > Add Data Request Status as a column

Data Request Status options:

  1. No Data Requested - - Customer has NOT sent a request to their vendor for them to provide information on this product

  2. Data Requested - Customer has sent a request to their vendor for them to provide information on this product

  3. Footprint Shared - Data for this product has been shared, BUT not yet uploaded. This does apply to an external LCA.

  4. Footprint Vendor Verified - This product is vendor verified

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How is supplier data protected?

SupplierConnect ensures that suppliers’ proprietary data remains confidential. Suppliers can confidently input their data knowing that sustainability insights are shared, not ingredient formulations.

We do not share suppliers' recipes, ingredient or raw materials percentages, proprietary processing methods, or agricultural practice details.

While suppliers' specific formulations are kept confidential, we surface the sourcing regions for the underlying commodities to you as the customer – data points typically found on a standard product specification sheet. We also share the the certification documentation and LCA's/EF's suppliers have uploaded.

2. Can suppliers edit their submissions?

Yes, suppliers can update their data if needed. Once revised, Latis will reflect the latest information.

3. What if a supplier doesn’t respond?

You can send a follow-up request through Latis or contact HowGood’s support team for additional assistance in engaging suppliers.
