Overview

What is SupplierConnect?

HowGood’s SupplierConnect platform gives you direct access to the world’s largest sustainability database for food ingredients and instantly calculates your product footprints.

Each step is designed to make it easier for you to share sustainability data securely and efficiently - while also gaining insights into your own products.

Sustainability data in the form of product footprints is instantly calculated in-platform using the basic sourcing data you provide. Sharing footprints to your customer is seamless, secure, and can be completed directly in SupplierConnect.

Your proprietary information is always kept confidential - only the calculated footprints are shared with your customer, and you have access to view and download your carbon and water footprints. The product details you provide are never shared.

Getting Started: Account Basics

Manage Your Account

  • Usernames are provided by the HowGood team, and you’ll be prompted to create a password the first time you log in. If you need to reset a password, reach out to [email protected].

  • Add a team member any time using the same form you filled out at the start of your account process, located on the SupplierConnect landing page.

  • SupplierConnect accounts are customer-specific. You may have more than one SupplierConnect account if you receive requests from multiple customers. Each account will contain your product list specific to that customer’s request.

*Please allow up to 24 hours from the time you initiate your account set-up request for your product list to load.

Explore Your Homepage

Once you log in, you’ll see your homepage. A few things to note:

  • In the main table, you’ll find the list of products your customer is requesting information for. Click into each product to start adding information. Please allow 24 hrs after account initiation for product lists to load.

  • You can track your progress with the dashboard on the top left.

  • Buttons on the top right provide alternate options - including bulk upload of data with Excel, or submission of existing emissions data you have (such an LCA). You can also download an Excel version of your product list.

How It Works: Calculating and Sharing Product Footprints

Step 1: Add Company-Level Information

  1. Navigate to the Company Level Data section on your homepage.

  2. Click to add your responses for each of the three Company-Level questions.

  3. Click Submit when finished.

Step 2: Enter Product-Level Information

  1. Click on a product to open its details page.

    Remember that the data you enter will NOT be shared with your customer - they only receive the product footprints. Your data stays private and secure.

  2. First, you'll first want to add your ingredients. You can adjust ingredient sourcing location, processing location, and weight.

  3. Then you’ll add general information, such as manufacturing type, region, if it requires cooking or cold storage, along with standards such as organic, regenerative, grass-fed, your unit size and a UPC if available.

  4. Next, you can add details on packaging materials and weight.

  5. Click Save to update the product with the information you have.

Step 3: Calculate and Share Product Footprints

  1. SupplierConnect automatically calculates each product’s footprint when you enter and save the data above.

  2. Click Share Footprint to complete the response to your customer. You can share each product footprint as you complete it. Only the product footprints are shared, never your data.

FAQs

Will my customers see my ingredient data?

Your customer can't see your ingredient details - they can only see your product's footprint. HowGood does not share any of your proprietary information with your customer, such as ingredient names, sourcing locations, standards or inclusion percentages.

How can I see if my product has been shared with my customer?

Any products with the status “complete” have been shared with your customer.

Can I edit my product?

Yes, you can edit your product(s) anytime. If you have already shared your footprint with your customer, you'll need to re-share after making edits.

What if I only have partial data?

It's ok if you don't have full data for all the products on the list. You can still calculate and share your footprint with what you have available. Edits and additions can be made later, just be sure to hit Share Footprint again to send the updated version.
