The Ingredient Insights Panel provides helpful context around your ingredient’s impact assessment. You can click on any score in the ingredient heatmap to reveal insights specific to that metric, including the metric impact spectrum, recommendations on how to improve ingredient impact, sourcing location suggestions and data sources.

Where can I find data sources?

To locate data sources for an ingredient:

  1. Click on the relevant metric for an ingredient in the ingredient heatmap:

  2. When the Ingredient Insights Panel opens, scroll to the bottom of the panel:

  3. The data sources for GHG Emissions, Land Use Change and Soil Health can be found at the bottom of the panel:

What is the metric impact spectrum?

The impact spectrum demonstrates the threshold distributions that HowGood assigns to a given metric. It also places several ingredients along the spectrum to provide context on how different ingredients score. Ingredients that fall within the red end of the spectrum have negative impact, whereas the ingredients that fall in the green end of the spectrum have minimal to positive impact.

What is the sourcing location map?

The sourcing location map enables you to see the impact that different sourcing locations can have on how your ingredient is grown. The color of the map indicates where the ingredient falls on the impact spectrum. By hovering over a particular country, you can see the On-farm GHG Emissions for a given ingredient.
